30 Day Anime Challenge (Day 4)

Hey there, everyone!
How are you since yesterday? This is the Fourth day of the 30 Day Challenge [and I’m supposed to be studying for a midterm, yay]!

30 Day Anime Challenge (Day 4) –
Favourite Female Anime Character Ever

That is one tough question… I guess I should have seen something like this coming… especially after the “Favourite Male Anime Character Ever” post… all right…

I’ve always had a certain admiration for Sailor Neptune from the Sailor Moon series [before her arc got outshone by the Sailor Starlight and other scouts, but she and Sailor Uranus still got it going in terms of badassery [in my mind anyway, they’re still heaps above the Inner Sailor Scouts (Sailor Moon excepted?)], I mean, to be able to fool Sailor Galaxia into thinking that they were her minions and to turn on her the last minute (only to get defeated, but still) shows a lot of courage, determination and perseverance, especially to overcome her brainwashing (I think she attempted to brainwash them?)].
She mostly always maintains her calm, which is why when she does appear shocked, surprised or mad, it’s subject to stop and rethink your actions. Neptune is also a really gifted student, being able to enter into a prestigious school and maintain her grades as well as participate in contests as an extremely accomplished virtuoso; she plays the violin very well. That’s pretty impressive. On top of that, being one of the Outer Senshis, she’s got stronger attacks than many of the Inner Senshis [well I mean… I guess it comes with being one of the Talisman Holder, after all…] and, as you can see, she doesn’t only use her special magical attacks, she also has hand-to-hand combat skills.

The second character worth mentioning today anyway would be… Erin from Kemono no Souja Erin. Another extremely strong character whom you watch grow from being a child learning about her heritage as one of the extremely elusive MIST PEOPLE [whom her mother exiled herself from when she was pregnant with Erin], living in a peaceful village where they ‘tame’ dragon-like beasts who sort of eat Touda – named Ouju, to the child who watched her mother sacrifice herself for her safety during the Touda trials (a really tearful moment, people, seriously), and finally into a strong and brave young woman [who can sort of control the Touda, just… how awesome is that?]. Despite every cruel thing that she’s been through (sprinkled with the generosity of many characters she encounters), she maintains an extremely kind mindset and develops an impressive observation skill that helps her take care of the beasts. I really admire that determination about her, and can relate to her insatiable hunger for knowledge and her passion for the beasts that she takes care of.
The anime doesn’t only focus on Erin [although her role is extremely important and she does play a huge part in the whole plot (I mean her NAME is in the title…!)], seeing as there’s a lot of politics involved with the monarchy of that world and the mist people coming in and out of Erin’s life. This visually stimulating, and impressively woven tale is definitely worth the watch if you are interested (and also don’t mind crying a bit, but you know that I’m pretty sensitive so I just cry easily).

I’ll see you tomorrow!

  1. Yup! yup! Neptune ❤ I guess when you look at Neptune and Uranus, it is expected that Uranus knows how to kick ass, but Neptune is, somehow, unexpected because of her feminine and elegant style.

    • EXACTLY!! She’s so freaking badass!! One of my faves! My second favourite (or rather she’s also head to head with Neptune) is Sailor Jupiter… I hope I mentioned her somewhere in these 30 day challenge things… *uh oh… did I forget*
