30 Day Book Challenge (Day 23)

by on January 23, 2016

December 3rd, 2015

All right, readers!
I hope this post finds you in good shape! Are we ready for the 23rd day of the challenge? I’m pretty sure it is, all right! We need to start so I can go to sleep and eliminate this headache of mine!

Day 23: A book you wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t

Oh, this is fairly easy. After I read the first book of the series of the same name, The Wide-Awake Princess by E.D. Baker, I’ve been meaning to read the sequel. It’s even the first book in my To-Read list, and yet, I have been postponing reading it, mostly because I guess I am scared of breaking the illusion that this series is so flawless.

I like to think also that I’m reserving this book for the bad times, when I’m reading a really bad book, or maybe when I’m feeling extremely depressed. Briefly put, when I need something to pick-me-up. To pick up my mood, that is. But then again, after all these years, I’ve basically been storing this story up and never got to use it for this reason.

Maybe I’m also keeping myself from reading this book is because I feel like the series might not be done yet, especially since the latest book – book 4 – was published when it was in 2015 [THIS YEAR!]. I really like to binge-read a series, which is why I try (I really try) to only start a book once the series is certified to be done. The wait is sometimes so long and I fear that I would forget what has happened to the characters, and I fear that I might forget about the series or the book altogether [that was before I found Goodreads and discovered I could keep track of my books though]. Now? Well I fear that I have indeed forgotten a little bit about this brilliantly written story…

I should go back and read it…

Anyways, I’m done for the day,
[yep, this is a short post, I’m really tired]
I’ll see you all tomorrow, then!
Take great care of yourselves!
